At least one of the LEGO annuals is always going to turn up in my son’s Christmas stockings. He has loved LEGO for most of his ten years and his enthusiasm is as strong as ever. LEGO Ninjago is one of his favourite ranges and that is included in the annual too. It also comes with a free figure to build, which is his favourite bit. It’s the Ice Cream Crook LEGO mini-figure this time.
The 2023 LEGO Official Annual is ideal for boys and girls. I would say ten is around the top age, but my son will still get a lot out of it. There are loads of activities inside to do – colouring, drawing, spot the difference, mazes, dot-to-dots and so on, so your child will need a pencil. The answers are at the back of the book.
There are also stories, both written and in comic book style. Older children will be able to read these by themselves, but parents will need to read them to their younger children. This is a good book for both parents and children as there are opportunities for both shared activities and things that children can quite happily do on their own.
The book is very good quality, 62 pages and has a beautiful bright orange cover including an illustration of a LEGO character in a wheelchair. It sells for £8.99 and I think it is worth the money.
