MY BIG GREEK HOLIDAY by Lisa Darcy
Three Australian best friends – Claudia (from whose viewpoint the book is written), Sophie and Tara – head off to Santorini in Greece for a holiday, courtesy of Marcus, Claudia’s boss (and lover) who has paid for it all. There’s just some business she has to do on behalf of Marcus, with a rather shady and elusive local man called Con.
The girls all have their own stories to tell. Claudia thinks she needs to find a new job, after her fling with Marcus has ended. Sophie is a wife and mother of three-year-old Levi (who also goes to Greece with them) and unhappy with her lot. Tara is desperate to write a novel, but needs inspiration! While they are on holiday, the three of them hope the beautiful surroundings will help them all find some answers…
I really enjoyed this. It was easy to get into, the settings were well-described and the characters are very believable. It has romance and comedy but added elements too and it isn’t predictable as some books can be in this genre. I liked that things didn’t go the way I expected them to. It gave the story depth and realism.
